A note for our friends in New York: Nerd Jeopardy Returns!
Thursday, Oct. 18th at McNally JacksonSponsored by The Penguin Press & Small Demons7pm, Complimentary Wine

A literary trivia night in the tradition of a certain long-running game show, with categories devoted to books and popular culture.
Q. How do I compete?
A. Three teams of three will compete for prizes and the respect of their peers. Grab two friends and drop your team name in the hat at the podium. If your team name isn’t called, don’t worry. There’s also an Audience Participation Quiz at Intermission. (There are prizes for the audience as well.)
Q. So, this is like “Jeopardy!” the game show?
A. It’s exactly like “Jeopardy!” the game show. All answers must be given in the form of a question. There are Daily Doubles, sometimes Video Daily Doubles, and a Final Jeopardy clue. The evening does diverge from the popular game show in two ways: we drink wine and all of the categories pertain to literature. If you can pronounce Yeats, spell Nietzsche, and name the current Poet Laureate, this is the trivia night for you.
Q. Wine? There’s wine?
A. The good folks at Small Demons have provided wine for the evening.
Q. When does it start?
A. 7pm. There’s usually a crowd, so we recommend arriving 15 min. early to get a seat. Teams are chosen around 7:10pm. We have reserved seating for team members in the front row, so that they may feel the audience’s judgmental stares throughout.
Q. Did you make a Facebook event for this this?
A. Yes we did.
